In today’s mobile market where over 25 phones are being launched on a monthly basis it has become very difficult for the consumers to make a choice between different models. The latest buzz is the Google’s own Android which kicked off in the fourth quarter of 2008 with its Cupcake (1.5) has moved to Honeycomb (3.2) awaiting its new version in the fourth quarter of 2011, Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0). Android has taken over the mobile market with over 2,50,000 downloadable applications out of which 70% of the applications are free.
Mặt khác, Nokia is trying to retain its market value with its ancient old-Symbian operating system. Despite of being an open source market, people have lost interest in Symbian majorly due to its high pricing, old interface, processor speed and user friendly issues. Nokia is not the only brand using symbian, other mobile giants like Motorola and Sony Ericsson have also launched their symbian phones but none of them emerged to be successful. Symbian 60 v1.00 was launched in the first quarter of 2007. Since 2007, symbian has only launched 4 versions. Currently Symbian^3 can be seen in a few Nokia phones like N8, C7, C6-01 with the latest being Symbian Anna which can be seen in the touch and qwerty input Nokia E6. Nokia is trying its level best to compete with google and has been facing loses over 212 million pounds.
In this highly competitive and growing market of mobile industry, people want to invest money in the latest device with a fast processor at the best price available. Nokia has been facing loses over the past two years because of a major drop in sales due to its high pricing, thanks to Symbian. But thankfully Nokia has realized it lately and here we have a brand new version, ANNA. It is equipped with an enhanced browser experience with a much awaited, landscape qwerty input. The browser offers a faster performance and is expected to be very user friendly. But there’s a big difference between marketing and reality. Google Android offers the latter.
For all the buzz that Android gets from developers, its success owes more to handset manufacturers than to open-source developers. The list of manufacturers include giants HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Micromax, Dell, vv. The Android platform has much more to offer at a very affordable price. Low budget android phones like Samsung Galaxy series and Motorola Charm are offering tough competition to the high end phones of Nokia like C7 and N8. These android phones offer a very high processing speed (800 MHz) at half the price of what a symbian^3 offers. The approximate price of a Nokia C7 is 17000 INR whereas a Samsung Galaxy pop costs only 8000 INR, making it a budget phone. High end Android phones like HTC Desire, Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, LG Optimus 2X and the Samsung Galaxy S2 offer high definition graphics with inbuilt GPU offer a very rich gaming experience to its users. Android has raised the hopes of all mobile fanatics with its innumerable apps which has brought internet to the fingertips of the consumers.
So people, if you are planning to buy a new phone check out the features including camera, touch interface, processor speed of the various android phones available in the market but then if you are a Symbian fan, go for Anna.
